The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jordão Silva the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ribeirada protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jordão Silva had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 9 minutes into the game, one of Ribeirada:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 18th minute Jacobo Argi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inácio Quinaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inácio Quinaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eskild Sneftrup, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Eskild Sneftrup sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacobo Argi in the 31st minute of play forced Ribeirada's goalkeeper Inácio Quinaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ribeirada's zone, Jacobo Argi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inácio Quinaz came out of the goal and Jacobo Argi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ribeirada's Inácio Quinaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eskild Sneftrup in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Maximiliano Omar took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Inácio Quinaz. Inácio Quinaz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. After 96 minutes, Basarab Ceaușu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ribeirada and the La Naranja Mecánica players grew even worse after the yellow card. Basarab Ceaușu hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched La Naranja Mecánica eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
