Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastián Rambert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Luís Eger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. André Luís Eger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastián Rambert in the 11th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Angelo Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ubaldo Fillol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ubaldo Fillol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Eduardo Bastos in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 played minutes C. A. Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Diego Cagna. In the 25thth minute of the game Sebastián Rambert who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Corti's André Luís Eger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ubaldo Fillol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olavo Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th match minute, Corti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Eduardo Bastos to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Sandy Spaulding took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for André Luís Eger to make any attempt to save it. Sebastián Rambert scored 3-0 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of André Luís Eger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Bob Griffith made the kick off in the second half. Gustavo López hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Angelo Loyola during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastián Rambert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Diego Cagna kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Ubaldo Fillol was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Angelo Loyola capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Angelo Loyola really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. After 76 minutes, Abelardo Pereira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corti and the C. A. Independiente players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th match minute, Corti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abelardo Pereira to maneuver through the defense. When 于洋卫 fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corti's protests and gave 于洋卫 a yellow card for diving instead. A. Independiente's Flint Prince managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Abelardo Pereira in the 82 minute of the game. Bob Griffith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
