Yalapa's Lucas Leizarraga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Manuel Claris in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Carolo Perico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Franco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albano Acevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Virgilio Paulin made a kick off. Manuel Claris made an important save on a dangerous shot by Urbano Ramond in the 51st minute. Armando Franco hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Manuel Claris made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Virgilio Paulin sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Madaleno in the 57th minute of play forced Yalapa's goalkeeper Carolo Perico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armando Franco kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. When Virgilio Paulin came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Yalapa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgilio Paulin couldn't finish the play. Carolo Perico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Franco in the 63rd minute of play. The supporters of Yalapa booed when R̶Ī̶И̶И̶Є̶Ǥ̶Â̶И was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Emilio Madaleno had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carolo Perico. Yalapa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emilio Madaleno was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Jonathan Lapurdi's late challenge caught a R̶Ī̶И̶И̶Є̶Ǥ̶Â̶И's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Many of Yalapa's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Yalapa may have spent more time on the ball, but R̶Ī̶И̶И̶Є̶Ǥ̶Â̶И were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
