Manuel Porto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristinel Alexe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th match minute, Champions Iasi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cazimir Zăraşcu to maneuver through the defense. António Trubin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marin Petruescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sporting Clube de Gaya fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! António Trubin had in the 15thth minute some difficulties stopping Adam Ghimiș's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the Sporting Clube de Gaya defense, Adam Ghimiș kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of António Trubin. The Sporting Clube de Gaya fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that António Trubin should have stopped the shot. Cristinel Alexe didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Sporting Clube de Gaya's Fredy Montero shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Fredy Montero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the game, Sporting Clube de Gaya's Jorge Lisboa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cristinel Alexe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 27thth minute of the game Adam Ghimiș who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting Clube de Gaya's António Trubin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Champions Iasi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adam Ghimiș in the 29th minute. Cristinel Alexe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredy Montero in the 36th minute of the match. Champions Iasi's Cristinel Alexe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Porto in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adam Ghimiș was the one to do the kick off. Fredy Montero kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Cristinel Alexe was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jorge Lisboa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 54 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Champions Iasi's zone, Fredy Montero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristinel Alexe came out of the goal and Fredy Montero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Champions Iasi's Cristinel Alexe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Lisboa in the 59th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Manuel Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting Clube de Gaya's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Porto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristinel Alexe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 1-5 when Fredy Montero sped through Champions Iasi's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cristinel Alexe. Cristinel Alexe came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Clube de Gaya's Fredy Montero. But to his dismay, Fredy Montero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. In the 69th minute, Manuel Porto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Clube de Gaya fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-7. Champions Iasi's Cristinel Alexe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Champions Iasi from getting a goal against them. Manuel Porto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Cristinel Alexe made a huge save. Fredy Montero's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cristinel Alexe firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cristinel Alexe made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Fredy Montero sent off a good shot on target. Champions Iasi's Cristinel Alexe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Champions Iasi from getting a goal against them. Sporting Clube de Gaya's Paulino Maltez was substituted for Manuel Porto. In the 91st minute, Fredy Montero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristinel Alexe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-9. After some careless play in the Champions Iasi defense, Paulino Maltez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristinel Alexe. The Champions Iasi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristinel Alexe should have stopped the shot. When the final whistle sounded Sporting Clube de Gaya left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Champions Iasi.
