La Coruña FC's Conrado Atarratze played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gert Sefastsson in the 13th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Basilio Bingen threw the ball into play from the sideline. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Karl-Michael Larsson quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The audience was convinced that Gert Sefastsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Conrado Atarratze was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Alexander Dahlbom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Koen Van der Hoeven in the 33rd minute of the match. Koen Van der Hoeven hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Gert Sefastsson charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of La Coruña FC booed when Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert Sefastsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gert Sefastsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Conrado Atarratze took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert Sefastsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Stig Browall got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Axel Åkesson kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stig Browall was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Gert Sefastsson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Conrado Atarratze, 2-1. 91 minutes into the match, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goal looked a bit too open when Koen Van der Hoeven came free, but Alexander Dahlbom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the game, Alberto Laffitte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Alexander Dahlbom was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The La Coruña FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
