In the 17th minute, Magallanes's Quintín Aranda ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Walmir Loureiro. Walmir Loureiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hipolito Fritz got free with Walmir Loureiro in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 24 minutes into the match, Corsarios del Sur's goalkeeper Walmir Loureiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luis Aravena. Samuel Damario charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuel Damario the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cirilo Ricart stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56thth minute of the game Honorio Kowalesko who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Corsarios del Sur's Walmir Loureiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 59th minute Honorio Kowalesko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Corsarios del Sur's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Mac Donald came free, but Walmir Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, Magallanes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Aravena to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Magallanes booed when Corsarios del Sur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Xabel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Magallanes walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
