An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeng Chong Kang in the 9th minute of play forced Carlisle United's goalkeeper Tod Bridgeworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 14 minutes, Calvin Townsley made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. istanbulls's Göksel Canfeda tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tod Bridgeworth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alp Enginalp in the 19th minute. When Zeng Chong Kang came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the istanbulls fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zeng Chong Kang couldn't finish the play. When Carlisle United's Harri Kaine in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye istanbulls's goalie prevented a goal. Göksel Canfeda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alp Enginalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tod Bridgeworth having to interfere. Göksel Canfeda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Calvin Townsley's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. istanbulls's attentive Haldun Özol managed to snatch the ball when Shane Tetley made a throw-in in the 39th minute of the game. In the 40th minute Zeng Chong Kang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tod Bridgeworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Calvin Townsley in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Göksel Canfeda saved istanbulls from getting behind. After 45 played minutes Carlisle United got a freekick which was hit by Nial Messenger. Jan Thomas hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, Carlisle United's goal looked a bit too open when İsmail Doğa came free, but Tod Bridgeworth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Senna to strike the kick off in the second half. Tod Bridgeworth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Senna in the 51st minute of the match. istanbulls's Göksel Canfeda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calvin Townsley in the 53rd minute of play. Zeng Chong Kang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tod Bridgeworth having to interfere. Carlisle United's Crispin Arrowsmith was substituted for Steven Garner-Currie. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Calvin Townsley put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Göksel Canfeda. Tod Bridgeworth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the match, Luís Senna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tod Bridgeworth. Carlisle United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Senna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 76 minutes into the match, istanbulls's goalkeeper Göksel Canfeda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shane Tetley. Haldun Özol charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Haldun Özol the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to istanbulls getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Haldun Özol hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Carlisle United's Göksel Canfeda threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Calvin Townsley, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 82nd match minute, Carlisle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harri Kaine to maneuver through the defense. Carlisle United made a substitution. Jan Power replaced Harri Kaine. A collision led to Carlisle United getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Harri Kaine hit a great ball. Calvin Townsley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göksel Canfeda having to interfere. istanbulls's Göksel Canfeda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calvin Townsley in the 89th minute of play. Thomas-Jan Thomas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Göksel Canfeda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Carlisle United players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
