Tomé Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gunvald Mitens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 played minutes FC Drik got a freekick which was hit by Denis Schubring. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernst Barskov in the 34th minute of play forced Agua Santa's goalkeeper Tomé Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Agua Santa defense, Ernst Barskov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomé Mota. The Agua Santa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomé Mota should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Agua Santa's Eugênio Monteiro got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Agua Santa made a substitution. Enrique Abreu replaced Ernani Valladares. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oséas Trigo made a kick off. Ted Kobbeltvedt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oséas Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The FC Drik supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Drik would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
