Emiliano Etxepare showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henk Veerman in the 6th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Älta BK's Henk Veerman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emiliano Etxepare narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 9 minutes into the game, Henk Veerman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Emiliano Etxepare was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Henk Veerman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emiliano Etxepare read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-9 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-9 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciro Gonsalve to make the kick off. Emiliano Etxepare showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Vennegoor Of Hesselink, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Jan Vennegoor Of Hesselink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
