In the 20th minute, Suat Kaya ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeremias Vedillo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The audience was convinced that Rain De Hond's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeremias Vedillo was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. In the 39th minute of the match Genk got a corner. C.A.M.P's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Diego Deswarte ran over to the corner to take the kick. 40 minutes into the match, Suat Kaya notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of C.A.M.P's Jeremias Vedillo. Jeremias Vedillo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vergil Rupov was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Genk's Vergil Rupov slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jeremias Vedillo. That made the score 0-5 after 54 minutes of play. After 81 minutes, Vergil Rupov made it 0-7 with a short kick to the right side. C.A.M.P's Jeremias Vedillo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Karl-Michael Melander might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jannes Van Leempoel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
