In the 15th minute Adolfo Peruanton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 minutes União Sport Clube Paredes's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ævar Bragason who took care of the corner kick. Timoteo Lando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerónimo Furtado in the 18th minute of play. Adolfo Peruanton scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edwin van der Sar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dabi Saens in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Timoteo Lando prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucio Claus in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edwin van der Sar saved União Sport Clube Paredes from getting behind. Timoteo Lando was a little too slow when Leopoldo Barbosa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 1-1. 35 minutes into the game, Jerónimo Furtado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Timoteo Lando was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 40th minute of the match, Altino Palha tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Timoteo Lando saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jerónimo Furtado was the one to do the kick off. SUMERIO FOREVER F.C's Timoteo Lando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Barbosa in the 51st minute of play. In the 52nd minute of the match União Sport Clube Paredes got a corner. SUMERIO FOREVER F.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dabi Saens ran over to the corner to take the kick. União Sport Clube Paredes's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
