In the 23rdth minute of the game Liu Yan Yan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Adelaide's Brian Brennand was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute, Mauricio Guadalupe made a precise shot to the right of Brian Brennand. Adelaide's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Petru Nisporeanu made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Clark Markwell sent off a good shot on target. After 33 minutes of play, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Sanson Villasinda made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brian Brennand was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sanson Villasinda in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brian Brennand prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Deportivo Peñarol FIFV booed when Adelaide was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barnett Collins didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Sanson Villasinda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's supporters rose to their feet, but Sanson Villasinda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brian Brennand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oriche Ruelas, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Brian Brennand successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Adelaide's Brian Brennand proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Adelaide from getting a goal against them. In the 78th minute of the match, Liu Yan Yan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Brian Brennand was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 79th minute of the match Deportivo Peñarol FIFV got a corner. Adelaide's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Christian Boylin hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Liu Yan Yan, 86 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Brian Brennand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sanson Villasinda's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. 94 minutes into the match, Adelaide's goal looked a bit too open when Sanson Villasinda came free, but Brian Brennand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Adelaide fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
