With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xalvador Pendones in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henk van der Werff saved De hijgende Hertjes from getting behind. When Alex Belém came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the De hijgende Hertjes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Belém couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Francesc Vilaplana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nueva Chicago's supporters rose to their feet, but Francesc Vilaplana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nueva Chicago:s Santiago Cañizares showed great skill when he stopped Frits Andriessen:s penalty. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Santiago Cañizares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Assendelft, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nueva Chicago's Santiago Cañizares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Nueva Chicago from getting a goal against them. After 67 minutes, Marco Assendelft made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Nueva Chicago's Santiago Cañizares tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alex Belém fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Cañizares having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Xalvador Pendones made a precise shot to the right of Henk van der Werff. De hijgende Hertjes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. If Marco Assendelft had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd match minute, Nueva Chicago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlo Abril to maneuver through the defense. Marco Assendelft struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Santiago Cañizares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De hijgende Hertjes. Marco Assendelft scored 2-3 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Santiago Cañizares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle went the supporters of De hijgende Hertjes were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Nueva Chicago side.
