In the 21st minute, 蔡云枫 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, Nueva Chicago's Joga Leve broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zbyszko Prosowski got free with Santiago Cañizares in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 狄旭适 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xalvador Pendones in the 26th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santiago Cañizares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Diego Lugano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 狄旭适 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 38th minute Xalvador Pendones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 狄旭适 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 狄旭适 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xalvador Pendones in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zbyszko Prosowski made a kick off. Santiago Cañizares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 62 minutes of play, Nueva Chicago's Xalvador Pendones made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. 狄旭适 was left in no man's land by his defense there!
