Nikos Valassiou was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 19th minute. CS La Libertad's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Buenaventura FC's Carlos Eduardo Ramos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Buenaventura FC from getting a goal against them. CS La Libertad's Ernesto Monge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rigoberto Lozano in the 25th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Carlos Eduardo Ramos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 28 minutes into the match, Nikos Valassiou had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Eduardo Ramos. After a defensive mix-up in CS La Libertad's zone, Rigoberto Lozano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. In the 44th minute, Nikos Valassiou reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Carlos Eduardo Ramos. The goal made the score 3-0. In the 47th minute, Rodolfo Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miguel Volio made a kick off. After 51 played minutes CS La Libertad got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Volio. CS La Libertad's Ernesto Monge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio De Diego in the 55th minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, CS La Libertad's goal looked a bit too open when Julio De Diego came free, but Ernesto Monge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albertinho Campidelis kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Ernesto Monge made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Rodolfo Dias sent off a good shot on target. In the 71stth minute of the game Julio De Diego who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CS La Libertad's Ernesto Monge was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, CS La Libertad's Rodrigo Lobo got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The CS La Libertad fans cheered their team off the field, for while Buenaventura FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
