After having played for 16 minutes, Emilio Grimaldi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Mims's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emilio Grimaldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Mixto Esporte Clube's zone, Emilio Grimaldi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antônio Carlos Travassos came out of the goal and Emilio Grimaldi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st match minute, Mixto Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Alagoano to maneuver through the defense. Antônio Carlos Travassos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Grimaldi, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The supporters of Mixto Esporte Clube booed when FC Mims was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Marconi didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

54 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Alagoano threw the ball into play from the sideline. FC Mims's Ermanno Ottavi quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. FC Mims's Elia Panella was substituted for Domenico Andreola. Cauã Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Amerigo Taranto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Emilio Grimaldi came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the FC Mims fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilio Grimaldi couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute Emilio Grimaldi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antônio Carlos Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Grimaldi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Emilio Grimaldi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antônio Carlos Travassos was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Emilio Grimaldi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antônio Carlos Travassos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mixto Esporte Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ermanno Ottavi was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilio Grimaldi in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antônio Carlos Travassos saved Mixto Esporte Clube from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Mims had won after a very even match.
