Despite this Mike Maignan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mike Maignan made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Mario Gomez sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Uzumaki FC's Mike Maignan got control of the ball when Zico Zellier tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Uzumaki FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Baldemar Losantos hit a great ball. An unexpected shot in the 30th minute by Sven-Edvin Jansson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armindo Amado in the 35th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Rudy Sigaran. Mike Maignan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario Gomez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Peru Alcaraz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
