After some careless play in the Devoto club social defense, Niceto Ihazintu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pavel Chivu. The Devoto club social fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pavel Chivu should have stopped the shot. Pavel Chivu was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Niceto Ihazintu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Niceto Ihazintu really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Ergo Muro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Martinez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pavel Chivu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niceto Ihazintu in the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Devoto club social's goalkeeper Pavel Chivu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Devoto club social's Marcos Ruy got a free kick in the 15th minute. Niceto Ihazintu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Pavel Chivu made a huge save. Niceto Ihazintu might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pavel Chivu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niceto Ihazintu ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Niceto Ihazintu got free with Pavel Chivu in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Rodriguinho Linhares came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Caatiba MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodriguinho Linhares couldn't finish the play. Pavel Chivu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niceto Ihazintu, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 28th minute, Caatiba MZC's Niceto Ihazintu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. With his leg Pavel Chivu managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Caatiba MZC's Niceto Ihazintu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Niceto Ihazintu had several of the Devoto club social's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 33 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 5-0 score and a disappointed Pavel Chivu as he didn't even see the shot coming. Niceto Ihazintu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pavel Chivu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Niceto Ihazintu took a quick shot and it went in 6-0 without a chance for Pavel Chivu to make any attempt to save it. Pavel Chivu made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Niceto Ihazintu sent off a good shot on target. 46 minutes into the game, Niceto Ihazintu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pavel Chivu. Niceto Ihazintu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 7-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuel Gartzen to strike the kick off in the second half. Niceto Ihazintu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Niceto Ihazintu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Pavel Chivu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ergo Muro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Gartzen in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niceto Ihazintu in the 57th minute of play forced Devoto club social's goalkeeper Pavel Chivu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niceto Ihazintu spun around in front of the goal 57 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Devoto club social's goal. Rodriguinho Linhares might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pavel Chivu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rodriguinho Linhares ran back to his position shaking his head. Niceto Ihazintu took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pavel Chivu. Pavel Chivu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Devoto club social's goalkeeper Pavel Chivu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Niceto Ihazintu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pavel Chivu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niceto Ihazintu in the 69th minute of the match. Devoto club social made a substitution. Eustaquio Bernal replaced Delmar Irrintzi. After 73 minutes Devoto club social's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nuno Mattos who took care of the corner kick. Caatiba MZC's Nuno Mattos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pavel Chivu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Nuno Mattos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pavel Chivu having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Mattos in the 76th minute of play forced Devoto club social's goalkeeper Pavel Chivu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ergo Muro made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Emanuel Gartzen sent off a good shot on target. After 79 minutes, Marcos Ruy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Devoto club social and the Caatiba MZC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Caatiba MZC booed when Devoto club social was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Ruy didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Martinez hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 87 minutes into the match, Caatiba MZC's Nuno Mattos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pavel Chivu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nuno Mattos might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pavel Chivu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nuno Mattos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 94th minute Nuno Mattos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavel Chivu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
