Jairo Lizbeth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogelio Joanes kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. With a little luck, Botafogo MZRJ's José Vítor Netto got control of the ball when Jacinto Rojas tried to sneak it across the goal line. José Vítor Netto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacinto Rojas went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 29 minutes into the match, Botafogo MZRJ's goalkeeper José Vítor Netto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacinto Rojas. Sidnei Amaral hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. José Vítor Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cirilo Marko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Botafogo MZRJ's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Lizbeth came free, but José Vítor Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Jacinto Rojas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. José Vítor Netto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Botafogo MZRJ getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Maurício Félix hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the game, Maurício Félix threw the ball into play from the sideline. Cañani OFF's Rogelio Joanes quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 46th match minute, Cañani OFF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cirilo Marko to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Jailson Capixaba made the kick off in the second half. Jailson Capixaba charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jailson Capixaba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cañani OFF booed when Botafogo MZRJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson Capixaba didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Vítor Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Lizbeth in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 55th minute, Jairo Lizbeth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 58th play minutes Jacinto Rojas shot 4-0, a short shot which went by José Vítor Netto and just under the crossbar into goal. When Jairo Lizbeth came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Cañani OFF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jairo Lizbeth couldn't finish the play. José Vítor Netto came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Cañani OFF's Jacinto Rojas. But to his dismay, Jacinto Rojas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Cañani OFF's attentive Rogelio Joanes managed to snatch the ball when Maurício Félix made a throw-in in the 75th minute of the game. Botafogo MZRJ's Gilmar Couto was substituted for Jailson Capixaba. Maurício Félix made in the 80th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Cañani OFF's Rogelio Joanes. José Vítor Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Lizbeth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 84 minutes Botafogo MZRJ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cirilo Marko who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Cirilo Marko got away a dangerous shot. Despite this José Vítor Netto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Botafogo MZRJ's Sidnei Amaral got a free kick in the 87th minute. José Vítor Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Rojas in the 89th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Alberto Novaes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Botafogo MZRJ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cañani OFF the free kick. A collision led to Botafogo MZRJ getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Alberto Novaes hit a great ball. In the 91st minute of the match Marcelino Arano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Vítor Netto skillfully saved the ball. There was no doubt that Cañani OFF were the better team. Cañani OFF's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
