AEK S.C's Thalis Krommidas got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, Ilulea FC's goal looked a bit too open when Donzel Goyeneta came free, but Gabby Arias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute of the match AEK S.C got a corner. Ilulea FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kevin Carreira ran over to the corner to take the kick. 17 minutes into the game, Kevin Carreira threw the ball into play from the sideline. Ilulea FC's Elvio Abreu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Thalis Krommidas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Thalis Krommidas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gabby Arias. That made the score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. In the 26th match minute, AEK S.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sakis Tavlaridis to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, Ilulea FC's Niva Bellido sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thanasis Koltsidas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thalis Krommidas got free with Gabby Arias in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 36th minute, Martin Gorbea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38thth minute Kevin Carreira beautifully dribbled past Ilulea FC's defense and it looked for a moment as a certain goal, but Gabby Arias pulled off a phantom save to prevent the ball from scoring on his left hand side. After 39 minutes Ilulea FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kevin Carreira who took care of the corner kick. Gabby Arias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thalis Krommidas in the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

A throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game was made by Rodrigo Hats with Kevin Carreira as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Thalis Krommidas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gabby Arias having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thalis Krommidas in the 56th minute of play forced Ilulea FC's goalkeeper Gabby Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. AEK S.C had played much better football throughout.
