Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Kristian Martinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ediberto Linares in the 17th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bernardinho Cardoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kristian Martinsson was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. In the 20th minute Eduardo Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristian Martinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Bernardinho Cardoso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A collision led to Rezende FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Sebastião Sergipano hit a great ball. Rezende FC's Reynaldo das Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Rezende FC from getting a goal against them. Kristian Martinsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardinho Cardoso's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. In the 47th minute Bernardinho Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristian Martinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Fenerbahçe S.K. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rezende FC were winning 0-2.

Reynaldo das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Fremont in the 56th minute of play. Reynaldo das Neves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Fremont's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Xiao Yun Jun had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reynaldo das Neves. Bernardinho Cardoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Kristian Martinsson made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Bernardinho Cardoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kristian Martinsson was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Fenerbahçe S.K. had played much better football throughout.
