The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. C.A.River Plate's Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save C.A.River Plate from getting a goal against them. In the 8th minute, Marcelinho de Castro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Felizberto EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Talha Özakan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Marcus Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Sun Shi Xi came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the C.A.River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sun Shi Xi couldn't finish the play. Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelinho de Castro's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Marcus Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Talha Özakan in the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Felizberto EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zuberoa Jane was slow to take the kick. During this time C.A.River Plate's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Zuberoa Jane got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcus Sampaio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Felizberto EC's Marcus Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Talha Özakan in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, C.A.River Plate's Zuberoa Jane sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcus Sampaio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jeferson Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Sun Shi Xi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcus Sampaio was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 35 played minutes C.A.River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Talha Özakan. The audience thought a goal was coming when Per Löfkvist got free with Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcelinho de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 43rd minute, Talha Özakan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcus Sampaio was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Felizberto EC's zone, Otsoa Perojo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Sampaio came out of the goal and Otsoa Perojo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sun Shi Xi made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Felizberto EC's goal looked a bit too open when Zuberoa Jane came free, but Marcus Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute Marcelinho de Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelinho de Castro in the 56th minute of the match. Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per Löfkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute of the match, Talha Özakan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcus Sampaio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per Löfkvist in the 67th minute of play forced C.A.River Plate's goalkeeper Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otsoa Perojo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 minutes Felizberto EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zuberoa Jane who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Felizberto EC's goalie and right to Otsoa Perojo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Felizberto EC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Felizberto EC's Marcus Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sun Shi Xi in the 85th minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Ulisses Barbosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Felizberto EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A.River Plate the free kick. In the 86th match minute, Felizberto EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulisses Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. Marcus Sampaio was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Zuberoa Jane. Dalmo Netto hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The C.A.River Plate supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing C.A.River Plate would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
