After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Mateo Bastida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fuerzas Armadas's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateo Bastida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abelardo Rami breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. García Morales stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dionisio Rainerio's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of STRAY CATS FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fuerzas Armadas:s goal. The goalkeeper, Abelardo Rami, was totally fooled by Fuerzas Armadas's Eufrasio Aranzubia, who 74 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 82 minutes into the match, Elvio Rivas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abelardo Rami. STRAY CATS FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elvio Rivas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The STRAY CATS FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fuerzas Armadas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
