When Dionisio Arias came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Los Irrompibles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dionisio Arias couldn't finish the play. Denis Paulin was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ariel Baldovino. Fabricio Lawrence made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Riquelme in the 22nd minute of play. When Defensores de Lombroso's Uriel Ferrer in 26 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Fabricio Lawrence guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Gustavo Heriberto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Denis Paulin made a huge save. Uriel Ferrer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Lawrence having to interfere. The supporters of Defensores de Lombroso booed when Los Irrompibles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonzalo Videl didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute of the match Godfredo Gau shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabricio Lawrence showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Gustavo Heriberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Los Irrompibles's Fabricio Lawrence played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Riquelme in the 43rd minute of play. A collision led to Los Irrompibles getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Dionisio Arias hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustavo Heriberto to make the kick off. In the 58th minute Gustavo Heriberto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Paulin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uriel Ferrer struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Fabricio Lawrence didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Defensores de Lombroso. Gustavo Heriberto hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Defensores de Lombroso's Celso Sauveur was substituted for Uriel Ferrer. After a rather tough play, Los Irrompibles's Gustavo Heriberto got a free kick in the 68th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Celso Sauveur kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fabricio Lawrence. That made the score 0-3 in the 71 minute of play. After 74 minutes Los Irrompibles's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Godfredo Gau who took care of the corner kick. Defensores de Lombroso's Godfredo Gau was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fabricio Lawrence in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Celso Sauveur recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celso Sauveur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Lawrence having to interfere. Fabricio Lawrence was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Celso Sauveur capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Celso Sauveur really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. After 87 played minutes Defensores de Lombroso got a freekick which was hit by Juan Simon. In the 88th match minute, Los Irrompibles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Temelko Kozov to maneuver through the defense. Celso Sauveur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Fabricio Lawrence tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rdth minute of the game Celso Sauveur who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Irrompibles's Fabricio Lawrence was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cleto Truylos struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Denis Paulin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Irrompibles. The Defensores de Lombroso supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Defensores de Lombroso would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
