AIF were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Haymakers FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Birger Engström took the corner. Sven-Olof Blomkvist kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, AIF's Bror Skoog got a free kick in the 12th minute. Jarl Andreasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jim Håkansson in the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víkingur Bastarda in the 19th minute of play forced AIF's goalkeeper Jarl Andreasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd match minute, AIF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristoffer Vester to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, Víkingur Bastarda notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of AIF's Jarl Andreasson. Jarl Andreasson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 28 minutes into the game, Jim Håkansson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jarl Andreasson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 31 minutes into the match, AIF's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Olof Mogren came free, but Jarl Andreasson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Carl Kilman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AIF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Haymakers FC the free kick. After 32 played minutes AIF got a freekick which was hit by Carl Kilman. In the 35th minute Jim Håkansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarl Andreasson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jim Håkansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, Víkingur Bastarda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jarl Andreasson. AIF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Víkingur Bastarda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Haymakers FC were furious when Johannes Kvarnström was red carded, 45 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Víkingur Bastarda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Olof Mogren in the 52nd minute of play forced AIF's goalkeeper Jarl Andreasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Tommy Josefsson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jarl Andreasson. Tommy Josefsson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Jarl Andreasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víkingur Bastarda in the 56th minute of play. AIF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Tommy Josefsson scored to the left of an out of position Jarl Andreasson, making the score, 0-5. Sven-Olof Mogren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Jarl Andreasson made a huge save. After 61 minutes AIF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Uno Björklund who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Sven-Olof Mogren heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. With a little luck, AIF's Jarl Andreasson got control of the ball when Víkingur Bastarda tried to sneak it across the goal line. AIF's Jarl Andreasson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save AIF from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, Jarl Andreasson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, AIF's Jarl Andreasson got control of the ball when Sven-Olof Mogren tried to sneak it across the goal line. AIF's Jarl Andreasson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save AIF from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Haymakers FC booed when AIF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Collin didn't get a good kick on the ball. AIF's Jarl Andreasson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save AIF from getting a goal against them. AIF's Jarl Andreasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Josefsson in the 81st minute of play. In the 84th minute Kristoffer Vester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils Cane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tommy Josefsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Víkingur Bastarda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Jarl Andreasson made a huge save. In the 88th minute, Haymakers FC's Tommy Josefsson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. Haymakers FC played a much better game than AIF and deserved their victory. The AIF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
