Damien Schimmel's late challenge caught a ♞Sir Galahad FC♞'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damien Schimmel helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Zijdewind SC's Damien Schimmel got a free kick in the 7th minute. Zijdewind SC's Luuk Meppelink played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luiz Quirino in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute Elói Prata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luuk Meppelink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Luisinho Cardozo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luuk Meppelink. Zijdewind SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luisinho Cardozo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Luuk Meppelink showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luiz Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Zijdewind SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sílvio Luiz Quirino was slow to take the kick. During this time ♞Sir Galahad FC♞'s players had a chance to rest. The corner led ♞Sir Galahad FC♞'s Sílvio Luiz Quirino to fire away a dangerous shot which Luuk Meppelink despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 18 minutes into the game, ♞Sir Galahad FC♞'s Luisinho Cardozo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luuk Meppelink made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 27th minute Elói Prata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luuk Meppelink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ♞Sir Galahad FC♞ fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when ♞Sir Galahad FC♞'s Sílvio Luiz Quirino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Damien Schimmel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Cunha having to interfere. Luuk Meppelink showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elói Prata in the 39th minute of the match. Luuk Meppelink took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luiz Quirino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute Sílvio Luiz Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luuk Meppelink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute of the match Iuri Nóbrega sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luuk Meppelink skillfully saved the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Damien Schimmel made a kick off. Sílvio Luiz Quirino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Luuk Meppelink made a huge save. Sílvio Luiz Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luuk Meppelink having to interfere. Luisinho Cardozo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luuk Meppelink having to make a save. Luuk Meppelink was a little too slow when Luisinho Cardozo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 0-5. Jan ter Averst hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, ♞Sir Galahad FC♞'s Sílvio Luiz Quirino tried to score from far away in the 68th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Váldson Silveira in the 72nd minute of play forced Zijdewind SC's goalkeeper Luuk Meppelink to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniël De Leeuw hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Zijdewind SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 76th minute, when Luisinho Cardozo scored to the left of an out of position Luuk Meppelink, making the score, 0-6. In the 84th play minute Luisinho Cardozo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Luuk Meppelink. 0-7. The crowd rose to their feet as ♞Sir Galahad FC♞'s Váldson Silveira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luuk Meppelink. That made the score 0-8 after 91 minutes of play.
