Alfonso Froylan made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Leonel Cordara sent off a good shot on target. 33 minutes into the game, Silverio Tuste cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Alfonso Froylan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Genaro Ponciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pastor Domeka in the 36th minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Benê Neiva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfonso Froylan. Boca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benê Neiva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. When Benê Neiva came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the El Branca del Vieja fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benê Neiva couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pastor Domeka was the one to do the kick off. If Silverio Tuste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alfonso Froylan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Tuste, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The audience was convinced that Silverio Tuste's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfonso Froylan was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. El Branca del Vieja's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zikoranachukwudimma von Buol-Schaudenstein in the 73rd minute.
