In the 20th minute Luiz Fernando Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmundo Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dudu Borges got free with Edmundo Catarinense in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Wolf defense, Dudu Borges kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edmundo Catarinense. The Wolf fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edmundo Catarinense should have stopped the shot. Edmundo Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dudu Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Catugi FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valentin Gomez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valentin Gomez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edmundo Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Borges in the 54th minute of play. Geovanni Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute of the match Elói Fonseca sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edmundo Catarinense skillfully saved the ball. Edmundo Catarinense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hernani Travassos went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. After 62 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fernando Abraão. After 67 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Elói Fonseca. Luiz Fernando Rezende took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edmundo Catarinense. Wolf's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Wolf eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
