He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When Remus Voican fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s protests and gave Remus Voican a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 played minutes Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Remus Voican. Alin Onuț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir Velloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Velloso in the 20th minute of play forced Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Alin Onuț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alin Onuț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir Velloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Alin Onuț stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdir Velloso's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Charles Björkqvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cosmin Sichitiu's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute of the match Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- got a corner. Here Comes the Hammer's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Danang Macadangdang ran over to the corner to take the kick. Danang Macadangdang made a great header on Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s corner, it was just that Here Comes the Hammer's Charles Björkqvist managed to reach the ball for a save. Alin Onuț showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdir Velloso in the 28th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, Marian Aldulescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Here Comes the Hammer the free kick. A collision led to Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Marian Aldulescu hit a great ball. Alin Onuț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir Velloso in the 32nd minute of play. Gustav Larsfelt made in the 34th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Adam Curteanu. Here Comes the Hammer's Tord Spetz managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Remus Voican in the 36 minute of the game. Valdir Velloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alin Onuț. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valdir Velloso ran back to his position shaking his head. Valer Herescu kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Marko Persson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th minute, Valdir Velloso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alin Onuț was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Cosmin Sichitiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Björkqvist having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Cosmin Sichitiu made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Cosmin Sichitiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Charles Björkqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Cosmin Sichitiu got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alin Onuț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir Velloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute of the match Here Comes the Hammer got a corner. Alin Onuț came out of the goal and Valdir Velloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- made a substitution. Nistor Predescu replaced Valer Herescu. Song Hao Feng kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Song Hao Feng hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. John Eriksson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 97th minute of the match Danang Macadangdang sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Charles Björkqvist skillfully saved the ball.
