Giuseppe Montenegro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pablo Orti in the 4th minute. 5 minutes into the match, Fabiofs's goal looked a bit too open when Guaberto Quico came free, but Giuseppe Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabiofs's Wellington Pitta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Primitivo Fidensio, made in the 9th minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Guaberto Quico's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Giuseppe Montenegro was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Zé Augusto Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ambrosio Quilino having to interfere. Ambrosio Quilino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramón Fantini in the 18th minute of the match. Guaberto Quico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ambrosio Quilino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Guimarães in the 24th minute of play. Giuseppe Montenegro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pablo Orti showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 31 minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Zé Augusto Recife was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fabiofs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marlin FC the free kick. The supporters of Marlin FC booed when Fabiofs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ignacio Derwin got free with Giuseppe Montenegro in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Marlin FC's Benjamin Pacho got a free kick in the 47th minute. Ambrosio Quilino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Augusto Recife in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guaberto Quico to make the kick off. Kléber Guimarães kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After 53 played minutes Fabiofs got a freekick which was hit by Diego Almeida. Guaberto Malvin was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 54th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Fabiofs's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Orti came free, but Giuseppe Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marlin FC's Ambrosio Quilino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Marlin FC from getting a goal against them. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Marlin FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Geovani de Amorim was slow to take the kick. During this time Fabiofs's players had a chance to rest. Eugenio Perez thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Ambrosio Quilino, a very annoying self made goal in the 64th minute which led to 1-1. Giuseppe Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pablo Orti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giuseppe Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guaberto Quico, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Primitivo Fidensio in the 78th minute of play forced Fabiofs's goalkeeper Giuseppe Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Guaberto Quico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giuseppe Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giuseppe Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingo Jon in the 84th minute of the match. Kléber Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ambrosio Quilino having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kléber Guimarães during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes Fabiofs got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Guimarães. Domingo Jon hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
