Hugo de Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Frédson Matos fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jukatriz's protests and gave Frédson Matos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th minute, Frédson Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicanor Gaufred succeeded in the game's 17th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. 20 minutes into the game, Josué de Salles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jukatriz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palermo the free kick. Josué de Salles kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Jukatriz defense, Nicanor Gaufred kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugo de Amorim. The Jukatriz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo de Amorim should have stopped the shot. Hugo de Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prospero Rubio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Jukatriz booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Vachon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute of the match, Antônio Nóbrega tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Teofilo Federigo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jukatriz's Hugo de Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Gaufred in the 45th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Jukatriz's goal looked a bit too open when Prospero Rubio came free, but Hugo de Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The wind increased when Nicanor Gaufred made the kick off in the second half. Teofilo Federigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frédson Matos in the 54th minute of the match. In the 55th match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Birila to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Palermo's zone, Amadeu Arruda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teofilo Federigo came out of the goal and Amadeu Arruda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeu Arruda in the 63rd minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Teofilo Federigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Antônio Nóbrega notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Palermo's Teofilo Federigo. Teofilo Federigo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wanderson Vergílio charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wanderson Vergílio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 72nd minute of the match Donato Vachon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo de Amorim showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 74 minutes of play, Palermo's Nicanor Gaufred made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hugo de Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Palermo booed when Jukatriz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Nóbrega didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorian Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jukatriz!
