Nicollao Narbona was slow to take the kick. During this time Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Jose Bero to fire away a dangerous shot which Arturo Ardines despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Marcelo Cordero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arturo Ardines read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Marcelo Cordero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arturo Ardines having to make a save. The corner led Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Nicollao Narbona to fire away a dangerous shot which Arturo Ardines despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Club Sportivo Italiano's Arturo Ardines proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Club Sportivo Italiano from getting a goal against them. Marcelo Cordero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Club Sportivo Italiano's Arturo Ardines got control of the ball when Marcelo Cordero tried to sneak it across the goal line. The throw-in from Artemio Francesco in the 28th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Jose Bero. Nicollao Narbona was extremely unlucky when he, in the 30th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Arturo Ardines, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arturo Ardines was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Marcelo Cordero capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcelo Cordero really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 43rd minute Marcelo Cordero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Ardines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Cordero struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Arturo Ardines didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelo Cordero was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Sportivo Italiano's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fisica UNT's players had a chance to rest. 56 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Italiano's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Cordero came free, but Arturo Ardines reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Marcelo Cordero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Cordero in the 58th minute of play forced Club Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Arturo Ardines to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelo Cordero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arturo Ardines having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Haroldo Alfonso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arturo Ardines was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Club Sportivo Italiano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Haroldo Alfonso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Club Sportivo Italiano for a fine match.
