Ciro Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Domingo Bulnes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Velho Barreiro FC's zone, Adriano van Beek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iker Hidalgo came out of the goal and Adriano van Beek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the game, Milcho Rakov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Velho Barreiro FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ✪ XV de Umarizal the free kick. Domingo Bulnes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferid Eker, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 42 played minutes Velho Barreiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Ferid Eker. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
