In the 3rd minute, Saverio Sicilia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Venezuela FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 8 minutes into the match, Deportivo Venezuela FC's goalkeeper Victor Guardamino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evaristo Gaspar. Saverio Sicilia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Léo Lago having to make a save. Jerold Caroll's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Léo Lago read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Pirmin Viñal charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pirmin Viñal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Deportivo Venezuela FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Pirmin Viñal hit a great ball. In the 37th minute of the match Elder Figueiredo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victor Guardamino skillfully saved the ball. Victor Guardamino came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Medianeira's Jonas Arósio. But to his dismay, Jonas Arósio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonas Arósio was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes, Vágner do Valle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Medianeira and the Deportivo Venezuela FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd minute, Vágner do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xelo Calderona received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Léo Lago came out and tried to block the shot, but Xelo Calderona slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 56th minute. After 58 played minutes Deportivo Venezuela FC got a freekick which was hit by Xavon Voces. After a rather tough play, Medianeira's Jonas Arósio got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 66th minute Evaristo Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Guardamino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Guardamino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Arósio in the 67th minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Saverio Sicilia made a precise shot to the right of Léo Lago. Medianeira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Natã de Almeida hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After 82 minutes of play, Deportivo Venezuela FC's Saverio Sicilia made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Léo Lago was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 85 minutes, Saverio Sicilia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Venezuela FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saverio Sicilia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Xelo Calderona struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Léo Lago didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Venezuela FC. Victor Guardamino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Gaspar in the 89th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Medianeira's Jonas Arósio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victor Guardamino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. In the 94th minute, Saverio Sicilia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Léo Lago. The goal made the score 2-5. The Deportivo Venezuela FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
