Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nico-Pascal Kapteina started the match with the kick off. If Ezequiel Calderón had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thorsten Ternes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Calderón, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Nemesio Baladi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robin Schriebl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute of the match U21 Austria got a corner. U21 Argentina's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Robin Schriebl ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed Thomas Knoppertz to score against Nemesio Baladi in U21 Argentina's goal. 1-0 after 7 minutes. In the 11th minute, U21 Austria's Jens Krammer dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. 14 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Schriebl came free, but Nemesio Baladi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nemesio Baladi made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Jens Krammer sent off a good shot on target. Ezequiel Calderón hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Thorsten Ternes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Calderón, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 21 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's goal looked a bit too open when Jens Krammer came free, but Nemesio Baladi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thorsten Ternes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezequiel Calderón in the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Thomas Knoppertz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 36 played minutes U21 Austria got a freekick which was hit by Krzysztof Marek. A collision led to U21 Argentina getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Ciriaco Gregory hit a great ball. The long shot by Robin Schriebl in the 39th minute really tested Nemesio Baladi's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Nemesio Baladi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens Krammer in the 40th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Ezequiel Calderón made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, U21 Austria's goal looked a bit too open when Ezequiel Calderón came free, but Thorsten Ternes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Schriebl came free, but Nemesio Baladi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nemesio Baladi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adem Ferrari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ezequiel Calderón got free with Thorsten Ternes in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 71st match minute, U21 Austria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robin Schriebl to maneuver through the defense. U21 Austria's Jan Haase was substituted for Robin Schriebl. A collision led to U21 Austria getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Robin Schriebl hit a great ball. In the 81st minute, Adem Ferrari made a precise shot to the right of Nemesio Baladi. U21 Argentina's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. U21 Argentina's Karl-Michael Melander was substituted for Ezequiel Calderón. U21 Austria's Thorsten Ternes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Austria from getting a goal against them. U21 Argentina's Nemesio Baladi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adem Ferrari in the 89th minute of play. U21 Austria's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Karl-Michael Melander scored to the left of an out of position Thorsten Ternes, making the score, 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the U21 Argentina players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for U21 Austria.
