The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 8 minutes, Luciano Tinoco mouthed his way into the referee's book. Amílton Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maicon Quintal in the 11th minute of play. MINEIROS's Naldo Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luciano Tinoco hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the game, Zeca Rosado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BRASIL.Sp's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MINEIROS the free kick. In the 29th match minute, BRASIL.Sp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeca Rosado to maneuver through the defense. If Maicon Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emerson Barbosa hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Vítor Marinho made a kick off. If Benê Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute of the match, Nico de Mendonça got a very nice opportunity to score, but Amílton Urbano was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. MINEIROS's Ronaldinho Braga was substituted for Naldo Baiano. Luciano Tinoco got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to BRASIL.Sp getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Luciano Tinoco hit a great ball. Ronaldinho Braga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Amílton Urbano made a huge save. After 78 played minutes Vitinho Meirelles could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 0-1 into the left cross. When Vitinho Meirelles came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the MINEIROS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vitinho Meirelles couldn't finish the play. When MINEIROS's Vitinho Meirelles in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
