Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Roman Jayvier took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 10th minute, Lưu Phu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Son La fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Monarrez FC's Pablo Artal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Diem in the 13th minute of play. Guaberto Ceandro charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guaberto Ceandro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Son La booed when Monarrez FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guaberto Ceandro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Binh hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Pham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silverio Giro in the 19th minute of play. Pablo Artal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lưu Phu went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Nguyễn Tuyet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Son La's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Roman Jayvier scored to the left of an out of position Nguyễn Pham, making the score, 1-2. In the 41st minute, Roman Jayvier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pablo Artal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lưu Phu in the 45th minute of play. After the first half Son La were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Trần Diem to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Monarrez FC's Pablo Artal got control of the ball when Nguyễn Hung tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pablo Artal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lưu Phu in the 54th minute of play. A collision led to Son La getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Trần Van Quyen hit a great ball. Pablo Artal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Tuyet in the 58th minute of the match. Guaberto Ceandro hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Son La defense, Roman Jayvier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nguyễn Pham. The Son La fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nguyễn Pham should have stopped the shot. If Trần Diem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trần Diem's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pablo Artal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. A collision led to Monarrez FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Fausto Cesaro hit a great ball. Pablo Artal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lưu Phu in the 85th minute. Roman Jayvier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Pham having to interfere. Nguyễn Hieu kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Monarrez FC's Pablo Artal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Diem in the 95th minute of play. Monarrez FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Son La for a fine match.
