Clyde Spencer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Siegfried Hüppe went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. If Frank Hiller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th match minute, AC Port of Spain was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philmore Popo to maneuver through the defense. Jochen Römer was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 21 minutes into the match. Austin Mathur shot the penalty kick right outside the post. If Austin Mathur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neeshan La Forest fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernst Trumpf having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Magenta FC's Tobias Majewski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clyde Spencer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 36th minute Magenta FC were awarded a corner. Matthäus Birnstiel went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Matthäus Birnstiel almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AC Port of Spain's Clyde Spencer did a great save. In the 37th minute Bob Sealy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernst Trumpf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernst Trumpf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Neeshan La Forest in the 39th minute of the match. Frank Hiller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clyde Spencer having to interfere. When Frank Hiller, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 44 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Clyde Spencer was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 48th match minute, Magenta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eberhard Krughöfer to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Hiller was the one to do the kick off. Austin Mathur's shot from long distance in the 62nd minute was not bad at all, but Magenta FC's Ernst Trumpf knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. With a little luck, Magenta FC's Ernst Trumpf got control of the ball when Neeshan La Forest tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ernst Trumpf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neeshan La Forest, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Magenta FC booed when AC Port of Spain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wade Pierre didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the AC Port of Spain defense, Tobias Majewski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clyde Spencer. The AC Port of Spain fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clyde Spencer should have stopped the shot. If Siegfried Hüppe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tobias Majewski hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Magenta FC defense, Neeshan La Forest kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernst Trumpf. The Magenta FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernst Trumpf should have stopped the shot. 88 minutes into the match, Tobias Majewski notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of AC Port of Spain's Clyde Spencer. Clyde Spencer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 92 minutes of play, Magenta FC's Frank Hiller made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Clyde Spencer was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Magenta FC had won after a very even match.
