After a rather tough play, Racing Club Carhue's Aurelio Ralondo got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Aurelio Ralondo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the game, Neeshan La Forest recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Danilo Taurino. Neeshan La Forest showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 15 played minutes Racing Club Carhue got a freekick which was hit by Aurelio Ralondo. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fitzgerald Asgarali during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th match minute, AC Port of Spain was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fitzgerald Asgarali to maneuver through the defense. AC Port of Spain's Neeshan La Forest got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Atilano Maore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 played minutes AC Port of Spain got a freekick which was hit by Orville Capildeo. After having played for 28 minutes, Atilano Maore managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing Club Carhue's supporters crossed their fingers, but Atilano Maore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 31stth minute of the game Neeshan La Forest who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Racing Club Carhue's Danilo Taurino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Alfonso Su had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the AC Port of Spain defense, Aurelio Ralondo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clyde Spencer. The AC Port of Spain fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clyde Spencer should have stopped the shot. Danilo Taurino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neeshan La Forest in the 40th minute of play. Racing Club Carhue's Danilo Taurino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neeshan La Forest in the 43rd minute of play. Atilano Maore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clyde Spencer having to interfere. The referee gave AC Port of Spain a penalty, 47 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Austin Mathur, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Racing Club Carhue's Danilo Taurino. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Nunez Dei got free with Clyde Spencer in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Aurelio Ralondo took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Clyde Spencer to make any attempt to save it. Clyde Spencer made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Atilano Maore sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Neeshan La Forest in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Danilo Taurino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Clyde Spencer was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Ovidio Xacintu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ovidio Xacintu really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Atilano Maore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Club Carhue's supporters rose to their feet, but Atilano Maore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clyde Spencer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clyde Spencer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aurelio Ralondo in the 78th minute. The supporters of AC Port of Spain booed when Racing Club Carhue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosme Abeita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Danilo Taurino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neeshan La Forest, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Clyde Spencer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atilano Maore in the 84th minute of play. Bob Sealy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Taurino having to interfere. Ovidio Xacintu's late challenge caught a AC Port of Spain's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ovidio Xacintu helped the player get up and apologised. After 96 played minutes Racing Club Carhue got a freekick which was hit by Ovidio Xacintu.
