Andreas Majman hit a great ball. Roy Zander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Diem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Binh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Son La's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ronneby BK the free kick. Nguyễn Binh hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Ingmar Nordström took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nguyễn Pham. Nguyễn Pham dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 17 minutes of play, Son La's Nguyễn Tuyet made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roy Zander was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ronneby BK's Roy Zander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Ronneby BK from getting a goal against them. Nguyễn Hung could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Roy Zander made a huge save. In the 26th minute, Nguyễn Hung reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Roy Zander. The goal made the score 2-1. Lưu Phu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 31 minutes of play, Ronneby BK's Ludwig Cane made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Pham was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Ronneby BK's Simon Eliasson got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Trần Diem hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Ronneby BK's Roy Zander got control of the ball when Lưu Phu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 40th match minute, Ronneby BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filiph Hellström to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The wind increased when Trần Diem made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Son La's goalkeeper Nguyễn Pham, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lưu Phu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arvid Lundqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Lưu Phu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Son La's supporters rose to their feet, but Lưu Phu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roy Zander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th minute, Ulf Ahlquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute, Trần Diem got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Trần Diem came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Son La fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trần Diem couldn't finish the play. The Son La fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Son La's Lưu Phu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 78 played minutes Son La got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Hieu. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Ronneby BK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Son La:s goal. In the 97th minute Lưu Phu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roy Zander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
