Igor Bambas came free with the goalkeeper in the 3rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Magne Gunnarsson could save by the left post. After 5 minutes Strömsbro IF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Per Stenberg who took care of the corner kick. In the 13thth minute of the game Henry Fagerberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Strömsbro IF's Rolf Blom was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Per Stenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolf Blom having to interfere. In the 25th minute Per Tunström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolf Blom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolf Blom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Stenberg in the 29th minute of play. The supporters of Strömsbro IF booed when Rönnöfors FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertil Hellgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Rönnöfors FF's Henry Fagerberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolf Blom made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Igor Bambas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Magne Gunnarsson having to make a save. Thanks to some nice moves Igor Bambas could shoot a difficult shot in the 38th minute, which Magne Gunnarsson however easily saved by the left post. Strömsbro IF's Rolf Blom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per Tunström in the 42nd minute of play. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by Strömsbro IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Per Stenberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Rönnöfors FF's players had a chance to rest. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wasyl Zworski to make the kick off. Per Stenberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 55th minute Wasyl Zworski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magne Gunnarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Magne Gunnarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Bambas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Rönnöfors FF defense, Igor Bambas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Magne Gunnarsson. The Rönnöfors FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Magne Gunnarsson should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henry Fagerberg got free with Rolf Blom in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolf Blom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per Stenberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. With an all-out effort, Rönnöfors FF's Rolf Blom threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Henry Fagerberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 69th minute, Per Tunström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolf Blom was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Rönnöfors FF's Sigvard Biörnberg was substituted for Olimpiu Mirciulescu. Strömsbro IF made a substitution. Stig-Arne Bollström replaced Wasyl Zworski. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Arne Bollström in the 76th minute of play forced Rönnöfors FF's goalkeeper Magne Gunnarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henry Fagerberg got free with Rolf Blom in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Fagerberg in the 79th minute of play forced Strömsbro IF's goalkeeper Rolf Blom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sten Hökqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Stig-Arne Bollström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henry Fagerberg in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolf Blom saved Strömsbro IF from getting behind. In the 90th minute, Henning Stigsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolf Blom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Fagerberg in the 91st minute of play. The supporters of Rönnöfors FF booed when Strömsbro IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Harman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rönnöfors FF's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
