Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuil Bibin to make the kick off. After 56 played minutes U21 Austria got a freekick which was hit by Nico-Pascal Kapteina. After a rather tough play, U21 Austria's Adem Ferrari got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 64th match minute, U21 Austria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Krzysztof Marek to maneuver through the defense. The U21 Bulgaria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stoyadin Shahov should have stopped the shot. The U21 Austria players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
