Fausto Argider showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelsinho Marinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Nelsinho Marinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Fausto Argider made a huge save. Luisão de Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Palestra do Interior's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nelsinho Marinho in the 20th minute. After taking down the ball on Palestra do Interior's corner Nelsinho Marinho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fausto Argider quite easily take care of the ball. After 35 played minutes Berutti FC got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Eli. Fausto Argider was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Nelsinho Marinho. In the 40th minute, Palestra do Interior's Doni Pimenta seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Doni Pimenta the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Palestra do Interior protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Doni Pimenta had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Doni Pimenta hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when Berutti FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Eli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronaldo Pirani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Fausto Argider tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Ronaldo Pirani made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's Ronaldo Pirani sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fausto Argider narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ronaldo Pirani took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fausto Argider. Fausto Argider dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Saul Silbestre kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Berutti FC's Braulio Lawrence got a free kick in the 61st minute. Nelsinho Marinho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fausto Argider. Berutti FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nelson Xavier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Fausto Argider tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ronaldo Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldo Pirani struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Fausto Argider didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestra do Interior. Braulio Lawrence charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Braulio Lawrence the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 69 minutes into the game, one of Berutti FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Fausto Argider showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Pirani in the 72nd minute of the match. Sérgio Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Fausto Argider tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaime Dantae hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Alex Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Palestra do Interior fans cheered their team off the field, for while Berutti FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
