With a little luck, Thornhill City's Vidosav Joksimović got control of the ball when Paraskevas Papadimitropoulos tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th minute, Ali Cengiz Hasankeyf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute of the match Marko Vidanović sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nikos Giotos skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radoman Karaičić in the 15th minute of play forced FC blue lions's goalkeeper Nikos Giotos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC blue lions getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Jonathan Åsen hit a great ball. Vidosav Joksimović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paraskevas Papadimitropoulos in the 21st minute of the match. Paraskevas Papadimitropoulos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vidosav Joksimović read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Radoman Karaičić blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nikos Giotos having to make a save. 36 minutes into the game, Radoman Karaičić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nikos Giotos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sima Ignjatović kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Paraskevas Papadimitropoulos struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Vidosav Joksimović didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC blue lions. After the first half Thornhill City were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

57 minutes into the game, Roman Kralchev threw the ball into play from the sideline. Thornhill City's Draža Milentijević quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 57 minutes into the match, FC blue lions's goal looked a bit too open when Zhuo Le Kun came free, but Nikos Giotos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Zhuo Le Kun's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nikos Giotos was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. In the 63rd minute, Zhuo Le Kun fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nikos Giotos, passed just outside the right post. Zhuo Le Kun struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Nikos Giotos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thornhill City. If Paraskevas Papadimitropoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 97 minutes into the match, Thornhill City's goal looked a bit too open when Paraskevas Papadimitropoulos came free, but Vidosav Joksimović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The Thornhill City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Thornhill City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
