When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Paolo Gagriel sped through Sassenhout's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Evert-Jan Algoedt. Sassenhout were furious when Klaas Van hoegaerde was red carded, 47 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Sassenhout:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tigre:s goal. In the 49th minute there was a penalty for Tigre. Tadeo Oriche stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Evert-Jan Algoedt. 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paolo Gagriel was the one to do the kick off. Desiderio Lauaxeta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Raemakers, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Paolo Gagriel was extremely unlucky when he, in the 56th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Evert-Jan Algoedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Sal in the 57th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Tigre's Paolo Gagriel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Evert-Jan Algoedt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paolo Gagriel got free with Evert-Jan Algoedt in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Guillermo Sal came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Tigre fans jumped to their feet. Paolo Gagriel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paolo Gagriel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evert-Jan Algoedt having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Tigre's Paolo Gagriel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Evert-Jan Algoedt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Stefan Raemakers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sassenhout getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Walter De Raedemaecker hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Sassenhout defense, Paolo Gagriel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Evert-Jan Algoedt. The Sassenhout fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Evert-Jan Algoedt should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paolo Gagriel in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evert-Jan Algoedt saved Sassenhout from getting behind. Tigre's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
