The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Samuel Schmit took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute Segio Burriaga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Graas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Segio Burriaga scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Francesco Graas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 9th minute, Isauro Lope ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Francesco Graas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 13th minute, Segio Burriaga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Bilbao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Samuel Schmit hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After 17 played minutes, FC Bilbao's Rodrigo Tarrero shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Francesco Graas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Bilbao reached it. In the 19th minute, SIX LUX's Florian Pröll seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Florian Pröll the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SIX LUX protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Florian Pröll had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of SIX LUX:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Bilbao:s goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erruki Veloso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Bilbao's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lothar Mutzel was slow to take the kick. During this time SIX LUX's players had a chance to rest. Lothar Mutzel made a great header on SIX LUX's corner, it was just that FC Bilbao's Maureo Izcaray managed to reach the ball for a save.
