When Glen Carmona fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Columbia's protests and gave Glen Carmona a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Columbia's Glen Carmona got a free kick in the 7th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Derviş Özsevi managed to get in a good position for a shot. amedspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Derviş Özsevi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddie Parish breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sol Franklin hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the game, Josh Thomason was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Columbia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave amedspor the free kick. In the 19th minute, Josh Thomason hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kerim Yetkiner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddie Parish having to interfere. Aaron Irizarry's late challenge caught a amedspor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Irizarry helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of amedspor booed when Columbia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kutluay Ülken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Freddie Parish tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
In the 57th minute, Derviş Özsevi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. amedspor's Ali Cengiz Tamerk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kelly Loomis in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in amedspor's zone, Kelly Loomis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ali Cengiz Tamerk came out of the goal and Kelly Loomis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ali Cengiz Tamerk came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Columbia's Josh Thomason. But to his dismay, Josh Thomason quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. İldeniz Azimoğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kutluay Ülken got free with Freddie Parish in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 76 minutes, Josh Thomason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Columbia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josh Thomason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute, Kelly Loomis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the amedspor defense, Kelly Loomis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ali Cengiz Tamerk. The amedspor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ali Cengiz Tamerk should have stopped the shot. Kutluay Ülken struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Freddie Parish didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for amedspor. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 91st minute, but Freddie Parish got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Columbia hanging dry this time. In the 93rd minute, Glen Carmona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kelly Loomis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Cengiz Tamerk having to interfere.
