The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Timoteo Basualdo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Utopía Muerta FC the free kick. Utopía Muerta FC made a substitution. Braulio Hibai replaced Fermin Martinez. Severo Bermudo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Branislav Velchevski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Elpidio Francis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Utopía Muerta FC the free kick. Anier Johans came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Branislav Velchevski could save by the left post. In the 26th minute of the match Utopía Muerta FC got a corner. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Uriel Santiago ran over to the corner to take the kick. Utopía Muerta FC's Uriel Santiago was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Branislav Velchevski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 32nd minute, Severo Bermudo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Utopía Muerta FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Branislav Velchevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severo Bermudo, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

55 minutes into the match, Utopía Muerta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Francis came free, but Mano Hume reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Elpidio Francis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 61 minutes into the game, Elpidio Francis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mano Hume. Elpidio Francis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Utopía Muerta FC's Ramón Furtado was substituted for Prudencio Ubelteso. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús was substituted for Miguel Prosperi. A sloppy throw-in by Uriel Santiago in the 67th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Timoteo Basualdo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramón Furtado in the 70th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. André Monclús hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goal looked a bit too open when Severo Bermudo came free, but Branislav Velchevski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Branislav Velchevski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Bermudo in the 76th minute of play. In the 92nd minute of the match ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a corner. Utopía Muerta FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Venancio Havier ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Venancio Havier got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mano Hume quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
