Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 12 minutes into the game, Joe Tate was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Errecaborda AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Imperio Académico the free kick. After 12 played minutes Errecaborda AFC got a freekick which was hit by Joe Tate. Imperio Académico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carl Beck in the 19th minute. A nice corner shot did that Carl Beck got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edmond Verdun quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Mauro Rameriz came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Errecaborda AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Rameriz couldn't finish the play. In the 23rd minute Ismael Jerrold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmond Verdun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pastor Ado might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrian Clis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pastor Ado ran back to his position shaking his head. Ismael Jerrold struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Edmond Verdun didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Imperio Académico. Adrian Clis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Ado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Vidal in the 29th minute of play forced Errecaborda AFC's goalkeeper Edmond Verdun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmond Verdun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Vidal in the 30th minute of the match. In the 31stth minute of the game Luciano Vidal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Errecaborda AFC's Edmond Verdun was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Ado in the 34th minute of play forced Imperio Académico's goalkeeper Adrian Clis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luciano Vidal in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edmond Verdun saved Errecaborda AFC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carl Beck during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Adrian Clis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Ado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adrian Clis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joe Tate, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After a rather tough play, Imperio Académico's Jesus Quiroga got a free kick in the 44th minute. Errecaborda AFC's Pastor Ado got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luciano Vidal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Imperio Académico's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Rameriz came free, but Adrian Clis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luciano Vidal charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luciano Vidal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th match minute, Imperio Académico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Vidal to maneuver through the defense. Prospero Jerardo might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrian Clis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Prospero Jerardo ran back to his position shaking his head. Edmond Verdun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Jerrold, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. The audience was convinced that Luciano Vidal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edmond Verdun was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Imperio Académico made a substitution. Godfredo Louis replaced Charilaos Bogdanos. Imperio Académico's Amador Igon was substituted for Luciano Vidal. Imperio Académico's Emilio Sugoi was substituted for Marcelino Quexal. A collision led to Imperio Académico getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Marcelino Quexal hit a great ball. Adrian Clis made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Emílio Terra sent off a good shot on target. 75 minutes into the match, Amador Igon notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Errecaborda AFC's Edmond Verdun. Edmond Verdun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Pastor Ado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmond Verdun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ismael Jerrold's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Alfredo Llorienzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Edmond Verdun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Many of Errecaborda AFC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Errecaborda AFC may have spent more time on the ball, but Imperio Académico were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
