In the 20th minute, River Plate's Romulo Casado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jorge Havier. Jorge Havier yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 27th minute Silvio Luzaide shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Quiroga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esteban Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 46th minute, River Plate's Romulo Casado dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0.

Virgilio Raitin kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Romulo Casado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aureliano Gora got free with Genaro Quiroga in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. River Plate made a substitution. Henrikh Vartanyan replaced Mauricio Tiniebra. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arsenio Hustaz in the 77th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Genaro Quiroga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romulo Casado in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. River Plate's Nemesio Azeari quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Virgilio Raitin, made in the 89th minute of the game. Romulo Casado scored 7-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jorge Havier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jorge Havier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romulo Casado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute Romulo Casado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Havier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. River Plate's Genaro Quiroga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvio Luzaide in the 96th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the River Plate players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
